What We Do

Cleaner Energy Starts With Cleaner Production

The manufacturing of solar PV panels generates greenhouse gas emissions primarily during the production of polysilicon, an ultra-pure silicon material required for solar cells. Thin-film deposition processes further add hazardous process gases and particulate matter that must be managed before they can be safely released into the environment.

EcoSys provides abatement systems configured for solar PV manufacturing environments. Our Marathon Series has been deployed across solar PV panel manufacturers in India and Asia, helping them reduce harmful emissions and meet environmental compliance requirements without affecting production output.

Key Processes

Emissions Generated in Solar PV Manufacturing

Acidic and Toxic Gas Discharge

Chemical processing steps in solar manufacturing release acidic and toxic gases that require robust wet and dry scrubbing before safe discharge.

Thin-Film Deposition Byproducts

Thin-film deposition used in solar cell manufacturing generates hazardous process gases and fine particulate matter that require abatement at the source.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Polysilicon production generates greenhouse gases during energy-intensive heating processes. These must be captured and treated before release to meet environmental targets.

How To Tackle Key Processes

From Capture to Clean Discharge

1

Process Gas Capture

Hazardous gases generated during polysilicon production and thin-film deposition enter the abatement system through ducts. Combustion fuels or plasma ions generate a reaction to decompose the incoming gas stream.

2

Thermal or Plasma Decomposition

High-temperature combustion or plasma breaks down greenhouse gases and toxic compounds, reducing their harmful impact before the gas proceeds to the scrubbing stage.

3

Wet Scrubbing

Water is sprayed through nozzles to capture coarse particles and water-soluble gases. Contaminated water is recirculated and only replaced when pH and conductivity reach defined parameters, minimising water usage.

4

Final Scrubbing and Discharge

Remaining gases pass through packed bed scrubbers where water absorbs residual pollutants. The treated gas passes through a drying zone before being safely discharged.
